Do you text and drive? Have you ever texted while driving? If you answer no, you're in the minority. Studies show that many people have done it and still do it. The next time you're driving take a look at other cars, I bet you will see it occur right before your very eyes. The studies have also shown that this is not just a problem with teens it's a problem with adults as well.

One study said....Nearly half of commuters self reported Texting while driving in a recent poll by AT & T and 43 percent of those who did it called a "habit".

Ok hearing the word habit made me really start to think about this whole Texting issue and how we can tackle this problem. If you ask me, people are addicted to their phones. The real truth is, the cell phone has now become the biggest distraction in our lives. Unfortunately this distraction has proven to be in some instances deadly.

So who are the people at risk to be distracted and cause deadly accidents? It's the people who use their cell phones for anything and everything without any limits. Now I don't just want to pick on teens because I want you to know you are at risk too. But I will say if you have a teen who loves to text you better put limits on this habit and do it before they are old enough to get behind the wheel of a car. Teaching responsible and respectable use of a cell phone in all aspects of life from an early age is a must if we expect to have positive outcomes.

Now I'm not a cell phone hater. I'm like everyone else, I like my cell phone as much as the next person. But I do want people to wake up and realize that this distraction can be a life changer. The writing is on the wall, laws are in place, people have died. So ask yourself have you done the following while driving......such as searched the internet, emailed someone, looked at an email, talked to someone with a blue tooth or texted someone? If you answered yes and no serious accidents have occurred then be thankful that you made it this far. But let's stop here, right now! Let's make a commitment that we are going to change, that we are going to be an example to our friends, family and especially our children. Make the decision to start using your cell phone more responsibly in all aspects of your life. I guarantee, that you will earn a lot of new respect when you practice proper phone etiquette and you just may save a life.(check out

So if you're with me let me know the new limits you plan to put on yourself as it relates to cell phone use. Also if you're already a believer in this way of thinking, please share with me your do's and don'ts of cell phone use. Let's make a connection here and make a difference. While you're at it if you don't have one, please go and get yourself a nice blue tooth. I wish you and your family all the best and let's all stay undistracted while driving.
